So,.
I have to say.. this actually received less interest than I anticipated. To add some perspective to this statement -> I didn't have terribly high hopes to begin with.
Re: So,.
It's all gotta start somewhere. Then again, it's a pretty small community to begin with. You might try playing on insta servers in distant locations, or checking to see if there are any other games that have a similar game-mode

Re: So,.
Why did you pick FFA and TDM. I'm not interested in either of those. I'd rather play Insta FT or Insta CTF.

I was just figuring they were the most casual types of insta and would have more overall appeal. Also, FFA was appealing due to the lack of necessity to have teammates so no fear of no-shows as long as 6-8 people would show up.
Personally, I also favor ictf and ifreeze though.
Hmmm.
Re: So,.
I really would like to see something assembled - even it ultimately ends up being on an even smaller scale than I expected.
Perhaps switch it to ictf/ifreeze and do teams of 3s (roster size 6).
I'm not going to give up but suggestions, as usual, are appreciated.

Re: So,.
Well, logically the first step would be get a roster, correct?
My guess is the best approach would be to do this in-game... just jot down the names on a piece of paper or something.
I think the interest is there, but people aren't gonna go out of their way to look for a team, sign themselves up, and play at certain times, which is why I've always thought a pretty leisurely scheduling would be necessary for that to work. (i.e. when people are matched up, they would figure out a time that works for everyone, and play the match at their own pace, preferably within a week) Then just post a screenshot or link to the quake records.
Make a scoreboard/leader board/bracket or whatever it will be.
Everyone has a good time.
P.S. I vote for iCtf and Tdm

I have also always found leisure approaches to scheduling to be the most successful. In regards to teams most people have their circle of friends or clans it's just a matter of getting them to sign their teams up.
Most don't seem to want to be bothered with registering at a board in the QLive insta realm. I can't say I blame them - if you're more than a little content with just hopping onto the game and fragging your brains out I can't see a reason you would want to either.
Maybe things are just fine w/o some organized function going on, I just thought it would be something different people could do with the time they spent playing. The more I think of it I don't really think there's AS many players active in the regions as it looks like. I mean if you think about it we all pretty much to stay on the servers near our homes (as best as we can of course) and you almost always run into the same faces day to day, week to week. I'm not sure we could assembling enough functioning rosters to sustain something.
Most of the insta related tags, mainly ictf, seem to be gone that I remember when I started out and that's something I'm not sure I really understand. In Q3, even when the game got inactive the "mainstay" clans who were there first and stuck it out over the years ultimately were also some of the last ones to vanish.
It's just weird to me.

Re: So,.
The problem is the community. Too many inflated egos.
Ofc first person shooters are competitive by nature, but the hate put off by some players is insane.

Inflated egos are an issue but moreso in the CA gametype - insta remains somewhat chill for the most part in comparison.
